How to find us

By Road

Essex Street runs north-south between The Strand (opposite the Royal Courts of Justice) and the Thames Embankment. Cars have no access from the Embankment end. If coming from the east, along Fleet Street, simply turn left immediately after passing the Royal Courts of Justice. If travelling from the north or west, follow the Aldwych Crescent round to a traffic-lit junction taking you towards the river, into Arundel Street. Then turn first left, left and right through the rather small Milford Lane and Little Essex Street into Essex Street proper.

By Underground/on foot

The nearest tube station is Temple. From the exit, walk left up the steps, cross the zebra crossing and turn right, to walk along Temple Place (keeping the small Embankment Gardens on the opposite side of the road). After about 100m, a pedestrian passage to the left leads to some stone steps. Climb these to Essex Street. Chambers is about 100m up on the right hand side.

Other nearby tube stations are Holborn (Piccadilly and Central lines) and Chancery Lane (Central line).

By Bus/on foot

Bus No.s 4, 11, 15, 23, 26, 76 and 341 stop at the top of Essex Street. If you travel from the north or west, you will have to cross at the zebra crossing infront of the Royal Courts of Justice. All buses travelling south along Kingsway from Holborn tube station stop in the Aldwych crescent (from which stop the Royal Courts and 39 Essex Street are only a short walk).

Disabled Access

Chambers offers first class accommodation for conferences, mediations and settlement meetings, with full disabled access.
